Welcome to Spinning Dolphin Charters of Lanai, featuring our boat Fish-n-Chips! We offer daily excursions into the deep blue to the best fishing spots off the island of Lanai.
The fishing grounds begin right outside of Manele Harbor, near the Manale Bay Hotel, where large Marlin are regulars. We then usually troll along the south side of Lanai toward the ancient fishing village of Kaunolu that is now marked with a lighthouse. This is a great spot to pick up an Ono.
Trusting the experience of the captain and crew, we then either round the lighthouse and continue down the coastline along the sea cliffs and to "the big slide" for Ono, Spearfish, or Mahi; or head out to one of the offshore fishing buoys where there are sure to be some Aku (Skipjack tuna) and maybe a large Ahi or Marlin. As we make our way, the crew is diligently searching the sky for birds that can give away the position of a school of Mahi Mahi or Ahi.
We regularly catch Mahi Mahi (Dorado), Ono (Wahoo), Ahi (Yellow Fin Tuna), and of course Marlin; but let us know if you would like to try something else like bottom fishing for Onaga, or tuna on light tackle, or even jigging for sharks! The crewman on the boat is the supplier of fresh caught fish for the island and knows how to catch them all!
At the end of the trip we suggest you have your catch prepared at one of the fine restaurants on Lanai.
