Parker School Boy's Cross Country Team Competes in State Finals on Oahu
After qualifying for the state championship by finishing second on the Big Island, the Parker School boy’s team was sent off to Oahu with an all school rally. The team competed at the state meet on Oahu finishing in 7th place. Parker School’s first place finisher was Jesse Tarnas, who came in 28th followed by Daniel Gregg at 32nd, Paul Gregg 67th, Tyler McCullough 78th, Kimo Hon 100th, Jesse Burns 112 and Evan Kasberg 152nd. Athletic Director, Tom Goodspeed remarked, "Pursuing excellence is a remarkable thing. The process requires dedication, commitment, hard work, and fun. Coach Ceri Whtifield set the bar high for these individuals and the team. After running two great meets in less than a week, the BIIF and the HHSAA Honolulu Marathon State Cross Country Championships, and finishing higher than they ever imagined in both, they all still felt they could have done better. This attitude bodes well for their future in whatever they pursue."
