LINUS CHAO HONORED WITH AWARD
On April 12, 1997, Linus Chao was awarded The Hawaii Living Legends Award, that recognizes individuals for their contributions and efforts in perpetuating culture and art. This award was presented to Linus Chao, in recognition of his accomplishments as an international artist and scholar, creator and educator. Linus Chao has spent a lifetime studying art, creating art, and sharing his knowledge and love of art through his publications, exhibits, public speaking, and through his teachings both as a full-time professor of art at Hawaii Community College and privately in his home and at the Volcanoes Art Center located within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. -- Hawaii Tribune-Herald, April 6, 1997
