Pat Miller is a sculpter with a rare combination of qualifications. "I love working with metal- taking it from a flat, lifeless form and rendering it into a life-like work of art that is completely functional, like a security gate, a doorway or a railing system."

Pat received training at the College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California and at San Jose State University. He is a licensed contractor with over thirty years experience in the field, operating Miller Welding in Hawaii for the past 25 years.

"I have years of experience in all types of welding and fabrication-a real-world expertise in the structural capabilities of different metals that most artists simply do not have. They often have to rely on trades people for the metal working experience they lack. When I create a concept it comes as much from the knowledge of how it will work as from my imagination. I like to take a concept through every phase of development, doing the work myself, including final installation."
