Tropical Visions Video, Inc. is the Big Island’s only Sony HDW-F900R CineAlta High Definition company! We specialize in High Definition volcano and Big Island beauty images. Now in our 25th year, Tropical Visions Video, Inc. is a video production company on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are a full High Definition/Beta SP production company, offering both field and post production. While volcano is our specialty, we also work in a variety of other realms. We produce in-house documentaries, television segments, and corporate videos.

Major clients use Tropical Visions for field production, stock footage and Final Cut Pro editing. Tropical Visions has numerous local, national and international clients. We have a strong background in magazine-style feature stories.

In conjunction with a series of commercials shot by Land Rover on t he Big Island of Hawaii in early 2007, Tropical Visions was hired to produce four short documentaries for the company. Three of those appeared on the Land Rover website for four months. Major productions include regular feeds on the activities of Kilauea volcano to national and international news outlets. When you see Kilauea volcano on CNN, FOX, or your local or national news, it is almost always shot by us. Tropical Visons is frequently contracted to supply the Today Show, ABC network News, and various other broadcasters with documentary, feature stories and reality television. Local productions include Hawaii Volcanoes National Park visitor center presentations and Mauna Loa Macadamia kiosk displays.

Tropical Visions offers both Beta SP field production and Final Cut Pro editing and master editor Mark Richford. Specialized equipment includes two Canon High Definition Lenses ( Canon HJ11ex4.7HDxs Wide Angle Lens and Canon HJ21ex7.8HDxs Lens w/doubler), and a new stabilized Canon lens ( Canon J13ax9B4KRD-4SX12) perfect for aerial videography with or without a helicopter mount. Videographer Mick Kalber has logged well over 200 hours as an aerial video specialist.

We have more HD/SD images of Kilauea Volcano than anyone on the planet! Our stock footage has been used in productions all over the world. Our rate sheet reflects broadcast and non-broadcast use right and pricing. Use rights are licensed for television broadcasts, corporate, museum and stage presentations. We now have assembled three two-hour High Definition volcano reels. Window time-coded screeners are available upon request.

Mick Kalber has been given an Iris award, two Emmys, and the NPPA’s “Press Photographer of the Year.” His work on “ VolcanoScapes,” a series of programs documenting the on-going eruption of Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano, has earned him dozens of national and international honors, including Telly Awards, Cine Golden Eagles, and a Kahili Award.
