We have printed the bags for Tropical Heat Wave for over ten years using our in house ink printing. It has been a very efficient operation, Jennifer calls us and orders 1,000 bags, and in less than two weeks, we send back the printed bags. White kraft bags, brown ink imprint, it has worked well.

Then Jennifer had a wild idea, could we print the bags in a Aqua/Turquoise?
Huh? The inks we carry are for industrial use, made for printing on brown kraft corrugated boxes. Pretty basic stuff, nothing fancy. We carry 11 colors, White, Burgundy, Orange, Black, Red, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Dark Green, Light Green, Brown and Purple.

The question came down to this, GBC would be willing to try a custom mix from the inks we have on hand, but like yarns, each time we did a batch, the colors would be slightly different, would that be OK? "Chance em.", said Jennifer.

Of course if you want to do a small run of 500 or 1,000 printed shopping bags, and want to do a custom color, we would be willing to work with you too. The Secret of the Flat Handle Sacks
Sometimes thinking different can save you cash. That's the secret behind our flat handle sacks. They are kind of an odd duck in the packaging world, where most shopping bags have twisted paper, or rope handles. They are similar to the bags that Trader Joe's use, and we make them in only two sizes, 12 x 7 x 12 and 12 x 7 x 15¾..
They are also unusual in that they have a seven inch wide bottom and side gusset, this makes them perfect for restaurant take outs. And they are packed and wrapped in bundles instead of boxes. All these features combine to make them very cost effective, even less in cost than the smaller 8 x 4¾ x 10½ twisted paper handle shopper.

Like our other paper shopping bags, they can be made with 100% recycled brown kraft or 100% recycled Versa Kraft which has one side white. They can be printed with one, two or three colors, up to 100% coverage, all for the same price. We are offering free printing plates, printing with any PMS color, and free shipping to the West Coast on the first order.

The bags shown here are printed at 95% to 100% coverage with two or three colors. That's good news if you want to make a real statement with your shopping bags.
