Established in 1989 (as the Sylvan Learning Center), the Maui Individualized Learning Center offers Maui’s best alternative learning solutions for your child (and you)!
If you are confused by all the news about new laws in education which guarantee "no child left behind," our learning center could be custom-made for your child.
For the student who is not getting the most out of the traditional educational offerings, we provide a personalized curriculum, starting in Grade 1 and including fully-accredited high school and college courses from Indiana University’s Distance Learning Program. After school, we offer one-on-one tutorials in all subjects, either in our Wailuku classrooms or your home (or local library).
Our half-day home schooling program offers the perfect alternative for students who enjoy working independently with the close supervision of a caring teacher who is never too busy to answer questions. Our teacher-student ratio varies between 1-to-1 and 1-to-4. We also provide SAT/ACT preparatory courses seasonally, as well as cognitive grounding solutions for reading and math learning disabilities and a fun accelerated summer program.
