Information may not be reliable

MTVIR, the best Cancer Treatment Center in Dallas offers Liver Cancer Treatment. Our Liver Cancer Doctor offers advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Unlike varicose veins, which appear primarily on the legs and ankles, and which can become quite large and ropy, spider veins are smaller veins and capillaries that appear near the surface of the skin on your legs, thighs, ankles, arms, face, and neck. Spider veins rarely become as large and swollen as varicose veins, but they are discolored (either blue or red) and often appear in a pattern that resembles a spider web and thus gives them their name. Also unlike varicose veins, which cause many painful and debilitating side effects, spider veins are primarily viewed as a cosmetic concern.

The factors that make a person likely to develop spider veins are the same as the risk factors for varicose veins – age, gender, and a family history of vein disease. But spider veins can also be caused by overexposure to the sun, injury, trauma, hormonal changes, or the same condition that causes varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, or CVI.

Fortunately, spider veins can be treated wherever they appear

The good news is that spider veins can be easily removed from any location on the body in which they appear. The most common technique used to remove them is sclerotherapy, a procedure in which a sealing solution is injected into the affected veins to close them. But our Monmouth County vein clinic is also one of the few clinics in the area offering radiofrequency ablation (also known as Venefit or VNUS Closure), a minimally-invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to permanently remove the diseased veins. Both types of Jersey Shore spider vein treatment are performed in our offices as an outpatient procedure, and take only about an hour, depending on the surface area of the spider veins being treated. If you have a large number of spider veins, multiple treatments may be required.

If these treatments are so easy and painless, why don't more people do it?

Why indeed. Our reason for writing this article is precisely to give people more facts about spider veins and let them know how quickly and easily they can be eliminated. If you want to find out more about this procedure or any of the other Monmouth County vein disease treatments we offer, give us a call at 732-403-3910 and set up an appointment for a consultation.
